About Coatings, Lubricants & Fluids Parts

Motor oil, or engine oil, is a liquid used for lubrication of the moving parts of internal combustion engines. While the main function is to lubrication, motor oil also cleans and inhibits corrosion inside the engine, improves piston ring sealing and cools the engine by carrying heat away from the moving parts. Motor oils are often derived from petroleum. Synthetic motor oils have greater heat resistance than traditional petroleum based oils that "thin" in high heat situations.
